[align=center][color=!shortcuts][insert=menu_location:mesh.show_face_normals] [insert=menu_shortcut:mesh.show_face_normals] [/color][align=left] If this option is active, a line protruding from every face in the mesh will be drawn in the direction of the face's overall [link=surface_normal]surface normal[/link]. Depending on the [link=normal_type]normal type[/link] attribute assigned to the face's vertices, this may or may not correspond to the normal value used for rendering. Normal lines are scaled relative to the total area of the face they belong to. The center of the face is calculated as the median position of all of the vertices that belong to it. For faces that are [link=select_concave_faces]concave[/link] or [link=select_nonplanar_faces]nonplanar[/link], it's possible that this position may lie outside the face itself.
