Saves all uncommitted changes to the current document, writing it to disk. If the document does not exist on disk, or if it cannot be saved in the same format as was opened, a file dialog will be shown with identical functionality to [link=save_as]Save As[/link].

The Save action is for saving an editable copy of the document, suitable for long-term storage and/or further editing in the future. To write a file appropriate for rendering or other non-editable use, use [link=export_mesh]Export Mesh[/link].
