This can be done with mouse movement or arrow keys for freeform adjustments, or typed number input for precise offsets. By default, mouse movement and arrow keys will adjust the position of the selected object on a plane perpendicular to the current camera angle. Holding the [color=!control]Ctrl[/color] key allows movement on the Z axis. Movement can be restricted to a specific axis with the [color=!control]X[/color], [color=!control]Y[/color], [color=!control]Z[/color], and [color=!control]P[/color] (for [link=pivot_anchor]pivot[/link]) keys. Holding the [color=!control]Shift[/color] key while selecting an axis will instead restrict movement to a plane perpendicular to that axis. The [color=!control]Spacebar[/color] key resets the applied offset, returning the selected item to where it started when the operation was invoked. While moving the mouse or using arrow keys, the [color=!control]Shift[/color] key can be held to move more slowly, and the [color=!control]Alt[/color] key can be held to move more quickly. While holding either of these modifiers, the [color=!control]Ctrl[/color] key can be held to increase the effect. When locked to an axis, a number value can be typed to apply a precise numeric offset. Typed numbers can be fractional, positive or negative, and can optionally involve one basic arithmetic operator (+, -, *, /). When using numeric input, mouse and arrow key input is disabled. Typed values are shown in \[square brackets\] in the lower left corner of the view. Pressing the [color=!control]=[/color] key will switch to absolute mode, where the object is moved relative to the origin of [nobr]{0, 0, 0}[/nobr] rather than being offset from its starting position. When using the mouse or arrow keys, this only affects how coordinates are displayed. However, when using numeric input while locked to an axis, this changes the frame of reference, moving the object to an absolute position. By default, the center of the object will be placed at the typed position. The [color=!control]Tab[/color] key can be used to change the effective origin of the item being moved, allowing its zero point to be placed at either the minimum or maximum coordinate on that axis. When locked to the pivot axis in absolute mode, movement is relative to the pivot position instead of [nobr]{0, 0, 0}[/nobr]. The zero point used for object origin (as controlled with the [color=!control]Tab[/color] key) is calculated by a componentwise multiplication between the pivot direction and the selection's extents on each axis.
