[insert=menu_location:mesh.operation_anchor_to_pivot] [insert=menu_shortcut:mesh.operation_anchor_to_pivot] Translates and rotates the selected item(s) based on the relative positions and orientations of the [link=pivot_anchor]Pivot and Anchor[/link]. The anchor point establishes the origin of the transformation relative to all selected items, which are then transformed such that the point in the selection corresponding to the anchor position is moved to the pivot position, and the selection is also rotated to align the anchor direction with the pivot direction. This operation can be visualized as grabbing the selection by a point equal to the anchor position, dragging that point to the pivot position, and rotating about that same point until the anchor's arrow points in the same direction as the pivot's arrow. Its intended use is to align separate objects based on a pair of shared reference points, one in each object's local coordinate space. If the Shift key is held, rotation is ignored and only translation is applied. If the Alt key is held, translation is ignored and only rotation is applied. Rotation is performed by taking the cross product of the pivot and anchor direction and using the result at the rotational axis. Depending on the relative directions used, this may result in an undesired roll transformation. This can be corrected afterward with the [link=operation_rotate]Rotate[/link] operation while locked to the pivot axis, or by adjusting the pivot and anchor and using a second Anchor to Pivot operation to level the selection. If both objects already use the same up direction in their local coordinate space, keeping the pivot and anchor directions level (with a Y coordinate of 0) will prevent any undesired roll from occurring.
